Calarca

Calarcá is a Colombian municipality and the second most populated city in the department of Quindío. It is conurbated with the city of Armenia. It limits the north with Salento, the west and northwest with Armenia, the south with Cordova, and the east with the department of Tolima. It is part of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Armenia. The city of Calarcá derives its name from the legendary Cacique Calarcá, indigenous pijao that inhabited the neighboring area of ​​present-day Tolima.

Circacia

Circasia is a municipality of Colombia in the department of Quindío. It was founded in 1884 by settlers from Antioquia, among whom are Javier Arias and others. It was segregated from the municipality of Filandia in the year 1906. The creator of his anthem is Gonzalo Quiroga Trujillo. Montenegro


Montenegro is a municipality in the department of Quindío in Colombia. Founded by Miguel Duque, Maria Antonia Granada, Nicolás Cadena, Noe and David Alegria and Justiniano Cardona, was declared a municipality since 1911; Has as main economic activities agriculture, livestock, handicrafts and agrotourism, with a large variety of traditional coffee farms in operation and a wide range of hotels. Quimbaya

Quimbaya is a Colombian municipality located in the western part of the department of Quindío. It is located 20 km northwest of the department capital, Armenia. The name of the city derives from the name of the pre-Columbian culture that inhabited the area, the Quimbaya civilization.

La Tebaida

The Tebaida is a municipality of the department Quindío in Colombia. According to the 2005 census it has 32,748 inhabitants, of whom 27,000 live in the urban area.

Founded this municipality on August 14, 1916 by Messrs. Don Pedro Arango Cardona and Luis Enrique Arango Cardona, brother of the former and Guaqueros participants in the Colonization of Antioquia of Quindío, was elevated to the rank of corregimiento of Armenia in 1917 and was erected as Municipality in the month of July 1954.

Salento

Salento is a Colombian municipality in the department of Quindío. Called the father of Quindío because it is the oldest municipality in this department, it is known as the "Cuna del Árbol" National Park. Pijao

Pijao is a municipality of the department of the Quindío in Colombia. It was founded on May 15, 1902 in territory of pijaos tribes by Don Antonio Maria Quintero, Don Luis Jaramillo and Claudio Rivera, among others. Its parish was created in 1912, and was erected as a municipality in 1926. Its culture is rich in architecture, dance and music. It is considered by many as a municipality of singular beauty. Pijao is 32 km from the capital of the department, Armenia.

Buenavista

Buenavista is a municipality in the department of Quindío in Colombia. It is located 27 km from Armenia, capital of the department. Its name is due to the viewpoint Buena vista, on the Quindío and northern part of the Cauca Valley. It is located at 1,477 meters above sea level. Its temperature is 20 ° C, with an area of ​​41.12 km2, and a population of 2,834 inhabitants.
