The QUINDIO Department has established itself as one of the main tourist destinations in the country thanks to a series of unique conditions that characterize it: Heart of the Coffee Zone and recognized as Green Territory of Colombia. Quindio is the first destination in theme parks, the first destination in rural accommodation, the first nature destination, and the second tourist destination in Colombia. Quindio is located in the heart of the Golden Triangle marked by Bogota, Medellin and Cali, a strategic location for being a crossroads of the three main cities of greater development and consumption of Colombia. Figures from the Governorate of Quindio and the Tourism Observatory of the Chamber of Commerce of Armenia, the department was visited by 500,000 people in 2010 and a visit is planned for 2014 of 1,000,000 people, estimates that are supported by several terms 


The Cocora Valley

The Cocora Valley: is a natural landscape located in a mountainous valley of the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes, specifically in the department of Quindío, being part of the natural National Park Los Nevados. It is the main home of the Colombian national tree, the Quindío wax palm, as well as a great variety of flora and fauna, much of it in danger of extinction, protected under the status of a national natural park. The valley, as well as the nearby town of Salento, are among the main tourist destinations in Colombia.

Salento

Salento: is a Colombian municipality in the department of Quindío. Called the father of Quindío because it is the oldest municipality in this department, it is known as the "Cuna del Árbol" National Park. It has a great variety of tourist attractions, including the Cocora Valley, where you can find a Landscape full of nature, such as the Barranquero or Momotus momota a commonly seen bird, take ecological walks and enjoy the beautiful scenery of this locality. According to an agreement of the Honorable Municipal Council, the foundation date was January 5, 1842. Each year the traditional anniversary parties of its foundation are celebrated between two and twelve January.

Coffee National Park

The Parque Nacional del Café: is a Colombian theme park located in the municipality of Montenegro in Quindío, Colombia. It has a cable car, shows, world coffee garden, three roller coasters, food stands based on coffee, Colombian folk architecture, and more, totaling 40 attractions that are divided into: mechanical, aquatic and thematic.

Panaca

The National Park of Agricultural Culture: (PANACA) is an agricultural theme park located in Quimbaya, Colombia, its main philosophy is to promote the interactivity of man with nature and domestic zoology. It is the first agricultural theme park in the world, offers several shows, theme stations and a collection of domestic zoology. It is called "A large estate", with 8 stations and more than 4 500 domestic animals, the park intends visitors to know the main activities of the agricultural sector and traditions of the countryside.

The lighting of Quimbaya

Mariposario

The Botanical Garden of Quindío: is one of the main botanical gardens of Colombia. It extends over 15 hectares and comprises a wide variety of areas and plant collections. The collections of ferns, heliconias and the family of Palmae are the most important collection of live palms in Colombia. Walk through a tropical moist forest. Enjoy exhibits of carnivorous plants and aquatic plants. Free Cemetery of Circasia

The Free Cemetery of Circasia is a monument to freedom, to tolerance and love as its name indicates. This unique holy field was built so that deceased people could be buried regardless of their political party, religion, social status, skin color or any other particular characteristic. All this happened at a time when, in Colombia, religious fanaticism and sectarianism reigned to such an extent that people were denied the burial of their relatives who died in official cemeteries because they did not belong to religion or party Political of the moment.
